How many pixels for my Amazon Transparency label?

Conclusion: At 300 DPI, multiply each trim side in inches by 300. A Type 1 square (1.125 × 1.125 in) is 338 × 338 px. Reserve at least a 0.54 × 0.54 in square (162 × 162 px) for the Data Matrix code and quiet zone. Use the calculator, then download a blank PNG with the DM reserve marked.

How it works

Trim pixels = inches × DPI

Amazon Transparency labels carry a unique serialized Data Matrix code so shoppers and Amazon can verify authenticity. Sellers who enroll in the program (or are required for certain categories) design interim or branded artwork around fixed Type sizes, then leave a reserved square for Amazon’s variable codes.

At 300 DPI, each inch becomes 300 pixels. This tool converts Type 1–4 trim sizes (and custom inches) into artboard pixels, marks a ≥ 0.54″ Data Matrix reserve, and downloads a blank PNG. It does not assign codes, enroll ASINs, or replace Seller Central guidance.

Questions

FAQ

How many pixels is a Type 1 Transparency label at 300 DPI?

1.125 × 1.125 in → 338 × 338 px. Multiply each side by 300.

What size should I reserve for the Data Matrix?

At least 0.54 × 0.54 in (162 × 162 px at 300 DPI) for the code and quiet-zone area, per common Avery Transparency artwork notes. Keep text and the “T” mark outside that square.

What are Types 1–4?

Common interim samples: Type 1 Square 1.125×1.125; Type 2 Rectangle 1.75×0.75; Type 3 UPC+Transparency 1.375×1.375; Type 4 Branded 3.917×1.375. Confirm with Amazon / your printer.

Does this generate Transparency codes?

No. After enrollment Amazon provides serialized codes (e.g. CSV Public_Code). This page only sizes the artboard.

What DPI should I export?

300 DPI for most label printers. 72 DPI is screen-only.

Where do I place the label on the product?

Prefer a front-facing surface when possible; otherwise back → side → top. Print a test at 100% scale and scan with the Amazon Shopping or Transparency app before bulk runs.

Questions an AI would ask

  • Which Transparency Type (1–4) or custom trim size did Amazon / the printer specify?
  • Is the seller using interim stickers or fully branded packaging with a VDPBARCODE spot?
  • Does the printer want 300 DPI PNG/PDF and any bleed on pre-cut rolls?
  • Has the brand enrolled and received serialized Public_Code values?
  • Will the label sit on front, back, side, or top of the unit?
